In this review, the author offers an original idea: to make door handles from axes. They look just great. And to realize this idea is very simple.
However, for small doors such handles may not be suitable - specifically in this case the author makes them for wide double-wing wooden doors (however, no one forbids experimenting).
To make handles for a double-leaf door, you will need four axes - you can buy them in a store or on the market (construction). The form can be any.
The main stages of work
First of all, it will be necessary to cut off a part of the cutting edge with a grinder.
At the next stage of the work, the author cuts a piece of metal strip and welds it to the ax. Welds will need to be cleaned with a drill or angle grinder.
Next, using a hand milling cutter, in each of the door leaves you need to make a groove so that a piece of plate welded to the ax fits tightly into it.
After that, the perpendicular to this groove (by the way, the groove should be through), the author drills a hole.
This hole is necessary in order to weld two plates together. Then the axes are installed, and the author performs welding of the parts.
In the lower part of the ax and in the door you will need to drill a hole into which the dowel is then hammered. That, in fact, is all the work.
