Manually carrying sheets of plywood, chipboard, OSB or drywall alone is very inconvenient and unsafe, as it can injure your back. However, with the help of a home-made metal grip handle designed to carry sheet materials at home, it is much easier to cope with this task.

To make this useful homemade product, you will need the following materials: a short piece of steel round timber, a long bar of circular cross section, as well as a suitable piece of cold-formed channel. Get these materials is not difficult.

It is very simple to transfer sheet material with this device. First, we lift one edge of the plywood or fiberboard, install the gripping handle in the middle and move it to the right place. With one hand we hold the gripping handle, with the other we hold the sheet. As you can see, nothing complicated. Now let's start making homemade products.

The main stages of work

We take the angle grinder in our hands and grind one end of the round bar (about 1/3 of the entire diameter) - this is necessary for better contact with the surface of the channel during welding. Then slightly bend the other end of the bar. We weld it to a piece of the channel, to the lateral outer surface. To the curved edge of the bar we weld a piece of steel round timber.

At the last stage of work, we clean the surface of the metal with a grinder, and can also be painted from a spray can. Now a simple and convenient grip handle for carrying sheet materials is ready for use. See the detailed manufacturing process in the video on the website.
