Conventionally, all shells can be divided into five main groups. The first group includes the so-called hanging washbasins. Next come the shells on the pedestal (they are also called "tulips").

There is also an intermediate option - a sink on a semi-pedestal. The main goal is to hide the flexible eyeliner and siphon from sight. But at the same time, he does not lean on the floor. When using a semi-pedestal, it is necessary to know its dimensions in advance in order to bring out pipes for water and sewage at the desired height.

The third version of the sinks is with a pedestal. There are hanging and hanging. The fourth group - overhead washbasins. And the fifth - sinks along with the countertop. Each of these types of shells has its own characteristics.

Household sink criteria

The main advantage of hanging sinks is the price - since no additional elements, except the sink itself, will have to buy. However, hanging sinks have two significant drawbacks.

Firstly, flexible eyeliners with a siphon remain in sight, which is not very aesthetically pleasing. Secondly, the wall on which they are mounted must withstand static and dynamic loads. Static - this is the weight of the sink itself, dynamic - leaning on the wash basin during the morning procedures.

The sink on the pedestal looks attractive and at the same time allows you to hide the eyeliner pipes along with the siphon. She also rests on the floor. Thus, an additional fulcrum is created - in comparison with the hinged one, the sink on the pedestal is much more reliable. But it costs more.

The sinks on the cabinet are noteworthy in that they allow you to optimize the space in the bathroom, unlike models with a pedestal, which use additional space. To choose the right furniture (cabinet) for the bathroom, you must take into account the overall interior of the bathroom.

Overhead sinks come in many shapes and sizes. They are also made from various materials. This allows you to easily choose the option that you like best for the bathroom. The main drawback of overhead washbasins is that the flexible eyeliner along with the siphon are not masked.

The last version of the sinks is with a countertop, which can be made of marble or other noble materials. Such sinks are very beautiful, but are expensive and take up a lot of space in the bathroom. It is clear that for standard bathrooms such models will not work.
