In this review, the author shows how you can make a universal punch for your home workshop and garage with your own hands. This will require scraps of metal, which can be found without any problems (they often lie right under your feet).

Using this universal punch, you can make holes in thick leather, rubber, and even sheet metal (though of small thickness). The punch itself is manual, and therefore, when working with it, you will have to make certain efforts.

First of all, the master cuts off two pieces of the square (one short, the second - long), and makes small longitudinal cuts in them with the help of a grinder. Then, in the workpieces, it will be necessary to drill holes and thread into them.

The main stages of work

Next, two blanks from a square with slots will need to be connected together using a steel plate. Another piece of bar is welded to a short length.

At the next stage, the master makes several more blanks. All prepared parts must be connected to each other. Then you need to clean everything with a grinder.

In the end, it remains to make a punch, which will punch holes in the skin, rubber, metal, and pick up the spring of the desired stiffness. The author uses a cut from a car valve as a punch. After that, you can start assembling.
