Using a simple homemade clamp that can be made from scraps of metal, it is very convenient to process small workpieces on a grinding or grinding machine in a home workshop or garage.

To make this home-made clamp, you will need a strip of metal or a plate of suitable thickness, as well as a bolt with a nut, a spring, a section of a square bar and some other details (they can also be found in the workshop without problems).

First of all, it is necessary to cut off two rectangular plates of the required length. Then the author makes a marking and drills one hole in the center of the workpieces. For convenience, the plates themselves can be temporarily seized by welding.

The main stages of work

Two plates need to be bent a little in a vice. Then the author connects them together using a makeshift hinge made of bolts and nuts. Thus, a mobile connection is obtained.

Next, on the bottom plate of the clamp (on the inside), it is necessary to weld a nut on which one end of the spring is put on. And to the second plate near the hole you need to weld a piece of metal, which will not allow the fixing nut to scroll.

At the last stage, it remains only to make a screw from a bolt and a piece of a square bar, and also to weld the clamping jaws. After that, you can begin to assemble the device.
