In some situations, for more convenient storage and transportation of bulk materials that act, for example, as waste, it would be nice to reduce their size. To do this, you can use the vacuum compression method.

And you can do this even at home. To do this, you need an ordinary stretch film, scotch tape and the simplest household vacuum cleaner.

Please note that this method is applicable only to soft materials that are capable of passing air through it (for example, it can be soft insulation for attics, walls and floors - mineral wool).

Technology features

The technology of compact "packaging" itself is quite simple - just wrap the material with stretch film, then connect the vacuum cleaner and pump out excess air.

When the material is reduced in size to the desired volume, it will only be necessary to pack it in a bag and fix it with tape.

Useful Tips

If the material is to be disposed of, it can be compressed as much as possible. If the material is planned to be used further for its intended purpose, then compressing it more than twice does not make any sense.

In particular, this applies to mineral wool. If you compress it very much, the structure of the material itself may be violated, and therefore mineral wool is unlikely to return to its original state.
