Now you can use a ready-made special tank for the pond on the site, but there is always another alternative. For the pond near my house, I used an old acrylic corner bathtub with a volume of about 300 liters, having previously repaired cracks and technological holes.
We begin the construction of the pond with the preparation of the place, we dig a hole so that the capacity is above the surface of 0.1 meters. Pour sand to the bottom, level the bath, add sand around and ram it, spilling it with water.

It is important to limit the perimeter around the pond with concrete, curb or natural rubble stone, retreating from the edge of about half a meter. Next, pour the shore of the pond with fine gravel with a layer of 0.1 meters, leveling the level of the trough of the pond to prevent crushed stone from pouring into the water.

We fill the pond with tap water. We turn to decorating and filling the reservoir with flora and fauna. From the plants on the surface of the pond in the crevices of the stone we plant: flax, decorative onions, wild peas, a kind of loach, hosta, wormwood. For decoration, you can cut off the top layer with local plants, pour sod with water so that it takes root. It is better to plant lawn grass around the pond; in a couple of months it will cover everything with a green carpet. Do not forget to separate it from the rest of the land, otherwise you will have to fight it like weeds.

Coniferous plants look wonderful: thuja, juniper, dwarf spruce.

To equip a pond, it is elementary that you need to collect plants in rivers, streams and ponds. Surface plants: sedge, reeds, coin box, perfectly take root in an artificial pond and even manage to winter in central Russia. For plants with roots, use ordinary flower pots, filling them with crushed stone and river sand.

Put snails (ponds, reels), fish and frogs in the pond that will delight your children with their croaking concert, causing delight from the illusion of a real lake.
Of the fish are quite suitable: crucian carp, rotan, small carp. Aquarium goldfish and viviparous are quite well tolerated even by low temperatures. Vealtail from the family of cyprinids can be kept in the pond until frost.
Thanks to the plants, the created microclimate will allow you not to feed the aquatic inhabitants, they will be quite short on pasture (midges, mosquitoes, daphnia, cyclops).

The pond will not require special care, it is enough to add water on time, which is suitable from a regular water supply, since small volumes will not harm the inhabitants of the reservoir. Remove rotted plants in a timely manner. To improve the design and additional aeration of water, you can install a fountain. For a large pond, a serious factory-made filter or redone from a drainage pump will be needed.
In spring, with a subsidence of soil around the pond, it will be necessary to additionally fill with gravel. Fine gravel plays the role of natural drainage, so a permanent approach will be provided to the pond.

A made pond will bring a lot of pleasure when relaxing on the site, it will allow you to smell, smell and freshness of this nature, easily transported in space without leaving your home.
