Set of materials
To make a wooden model of the gun as close to the original as possible, you will need several basic materials and tools:
- 5 mm thick plywood;
- manual or electric jigsaw;
- clamp for clamping the workpiece;
- quick-drying rubber glue;
- pattern with product shape.
Drawing a template yourself is not necessary at all. It is enough to print on the printer samples of the parts of the gun that can be found on the Internet, and transfer the drawings to plywood.
Processing process
Using a jigsaw, you need to carefully cut out the patterns of the gun elements that were painted on plywood. In total, five main and four auxiliary parts should be obtained from which the future wooden dummy of the pistol will be assembled.
The first three main parts (pistol frame) must be clamped with a clamp, align the side surfaces and faces with sandpaper, and then glue together. Then you can proceed to the machining of auxiliary parts, which are then in a certain sequence superimposed on the surface of a wooden gun. When the gun is fully assembled, it must be treated with sandpaper to smooth out any existing bumps.
At the final stage of the carpentry work, it is necessary to cut out visual elements from plywood that need to be well sanded and glued to the gun: a front sight, handgrip pads, clip clips, and also drill a hole for the barrel.
