To make a decorative aluminum knife, you need one package of ordinary baking foil, which you can buy at any grocery or hardware store. Such a knife is unlikely to be useful in the household, since aluminum is soft metal, but it will do as a souvenir or gift.
Preparatory work
First you need to get a roll of foil from the package and beat it well with a hammer to compress it and give it a rectangular shape.
After this, it is necessary to remove the tube from the cardboard on which the foil is wound, and beat it off again with a hammer to make a thin plate, and conduct heat treatment of the workpiece.
In the process of heat treatment, the workpiece must be periodically beaten with a hammer until a solid aluminum plate is obtained.
Knife making process
On the obtained aluminum billet, it is necessary to draw the desired template of the future knife, after which you can proceed to the machining of the product.
First, you need to cut the breadboard model of the knife along the contour with a grinder, and then it remains only to complete the finish and finish processing on the grinding (emery) machine and make the edge of the blade.
For a more aesthetic look, you can make the surface of an aluminum knife corrugated or apply some beautiful pattern to it. You can also make a wooden handle for a knife, or you can leave it as is - at your discretion.
