To make this original knife with a sheath with your own hands, you will need very simple and most importantly - affordable materials. Moreover, in the process of work, you do not have to resort to hot forging the workpiece, so everyone can make such a knife. The blade can be cut with a grinder from an old saw blade, which is ideal for this purpose.
The main stages of work
We apply a paper template, drawn by hand or printed on a printer, to the surface of an unnecessary saw blade and draw a knife around the contours with a marker. Then we cut out the grinder with a drop-shaped blank with a shank. You will also need to cut another detail - a decorative element for the scabbard in the form of a helmet.
As a material for the manufacture of a decor element, you can use a regular stainless steel spoon. We cut out the part and process the edges with a file, giving the desired shape. Grind the surface of the helmet with sandpaper, and then burn it with a gas burner until the steel darkens, and again we go through sandpaper.
We grind the steel blank for the knife, and then form the cutting edge on both sides and grind it on a belt grinding or grinding machine. At the next stage, we make wooden handles for a knife and scabbard from two pieces of leather. We polish the blade, grind the handle to be smooth, and decorate the scabbard with rivets and a decorative element in the form of a shield.
