During the installation of railings or street fences (for example, to enclose a summer cottage or a house adjoining area) made of a profile pipe, you have to pretty much “sweat” before you can set the same gaps between the uprights.
This is due to the fact that the distance between the support columns does not always turn out to be the same (for various reasons). And in order to evenly position the vertical racks, you need to carry out certain calculations. This is time-consuming.
Therefore, if you are not professionally installing fences and railings, it is much easier to make a simple universal conductor that will allow you to arrange all the vertical struts of the span of the fence at the same distance from each other.
The main stages of work
Structurally, a home-made conductor is an "accordion" of steel strips that are interconnected using metal pins (you can use pieces of a round bar of a suitable diameter).
Three holes are drilled in each metal strip, into which pins are then inserted and welded: long rods (38 mm) are installed at the edges, and short 12 mm in the middle.
Please note that the pins are welded only to the lower bar, and the upper lamella is simply worn on them and is not rigidly fixed. This "accordion" is convenient to use at large distances - in this case it will be quite rigid. Accordingly, the dimensions will be more accurate.
