Homemade files with Velcro, made of wood or plywood, can be called a universal and reusable hand tool. Due to the presence of sanding wooden blanks and Velcro products, you can use sandpaper of various grain sizes. Making such files is very simple.

The main stages of work

First of all, we cut out two rectangular blanks from a board or sheet of plywood: narrow and wide. Then we cut out a handle of arbitrary shape, so that in the process the file conveniently lies in the hand. At the next stage, we grind the obtained workpieces with an emery cloth or on a grinding machine.

Next, you need Velcro (you can buy in the store), from which we cut off the strip of the desired length and width, and glue it to the front surface of the files made. Pay attention that the Velcro sticks better and holds on tightly, on the surface of the files you can make small notches.

Well, then it remains only to cut the appropriate size strips of sanding belt with an abrasive on a velcro base and attach them to Velcro. Now homemade plywood files are ready to go. With their help it is very convenient to process wooden surfaces and workpieces.

To summarize

The main advantage of such emery files is ease of manufacture, as well as versatility - sanding strips are easy to replace, and you can use sandpaper of different grains. How to make files from wood, you can see in the video on the site.
