Often you have to deal with a non-standard situation when you need to unscrew the nut, but it does not want to turn in any way - it rusted. As a rule, an ordinary open-end wrench or ring spanner will not help in this situation.

We have to resort to more radical and effective methods. For example, some craftsmen use a grinder with a cutting disc, others - pick up more affordable tools: a chisel and a hammer. However, the first method is too noisy, the second is inconvenient.

It is best to make a simple homemade wrench from an old ring spanner. Using this tool to split a rusty nut will not be a problem. And for this it will take less time than if you hammer the nut with a chisel and hammer, and it will be much quieter than if you cut it with a grinder.

The main stages of work

To make a screwdriver, you will need a head from an old or broken ring wrench, a hexagon, in which you need to drill a longitudinal hole and cut the thread. And you will also need a “piercing-cutting” element that will stab the nut.

Making a wrench is very simple. It is only necessary to weld the head of the ring spanner to the hexagon section. By the way, instead of a hexagon, you can use an elongated nut of a suitable diameter. From a steel bar we make a cutter that is inserted into the nut or hexagon and bolted.

This device can also be purchased in the factory. But if there is little time, then why not make it yourself? Details on how to make a simple homemade wrench from an old ring spanner can be found in the video on the website.
