Using a dispenser it is very convenient to work with various adhesive tapes: for example, adhesive tape and masking tape. Using such a simple device, you can unwind and tear off the adhesive tape with one hand.
You can make a universal dispenser for scotch tape with your own hands, using simple materials that are almost always at hand.
Actually, the case of a homemade dispenser can be made of plywood, and the cutting knife - from a piece of saw blade for metal. In order for the device not to slide on the table, it is necessary to make weighting materials - “inserts” of lead.
The main stages of work
The first step is to cut the plywood blanks, which will then be used to assemble the dispenser body. The author does this job on the CNC, but at home, not everyone has such an assembly. Therefore, you can make everything by hand.
Using plywood and MDF, the master makes forms for pouring lead, which follow the contours of the main parts. You can also make weighting materials from brass, but somehow it’s a pity to waste such metal, it is better from lead or aluminum.
After that, the wizard begins to assemble the dispenser. A hinged door is attached to the body to change the tape. Metal "inserts" are glued to the side walls of the housing. A drum for a roll of tape is assembled from wooden gears. Then a piece of the saw blade is attached to the front of the structure.
