Old toothbrush file handles

Many masters in the "arsenal" have needleless files. Making wooden handles for them is not a problem. But this takes time and ... material. If neither one nor the other is available, and you need to work with files somehow, you can make simple handles from old toothbrushes.

It will turn out cheaply, quickly and cheerfully. So what about the fact that the pens will be different in color and shape? The main thing is that they will be convenient in work, and you will not have to rub calluses with bare metal.

To make handles for files, of the tool you need only a drill or a "shurik" with a drill of the required diameter, as well as a hacksaw and pliers. As you can see, the set of tools for work is minimal, so everyone, even a novice master, can make such handles.

The main stages of work

The first step is to arm yourself with a hacksaw and saw off the tops of the toothbrushes. Cut off about a third of the length of the brush.

Then we measure the thickness of the shank of the needle file and select a drill that is suitable in diameter. In this case, the thickness of the tails is 3.2 mm, so the drill must be taken with a diameter of 3 mm. Then we drill holes in the handles.

At the last stage of the work, it remains only to insert the “shanks” of the files into the holes drilled in the handles. You can heat the metal itself a bit, so that everything is “clockwork”, or you can try “dry”.

Details on how to make original file handles for files from old toothbrushes can be found in the video on the website.
