A practical and easy to use semi-automatic manual rivet for working with blind rivets, if you wish, you can do it yourself. In this case, most of the components for it can be easily found in the workshop or in the garage.

A distinctive feature of this design is that it does not have a power lever, as on factory models - here a screwdriver acts as a drive. An electric drill is also suitable.

To make a home-made rivet, you will need a working sleeve with collet cams, a tapered sleeve and a spring, which can be borrowed from an old rivet gun. You will also need a head where the rivet pin is inserted.

The main stages of work

The master mechanism, removed from the old rivet gun, is placed by the master inside a piece of pipe with an internal thread. On one side, another piece of tube is screwed into it. And then all this is inserted into the casing of a steel water pipe with threaded threads at the edges.

In the case of a semi-automatic riveter, with the help of a grinder, the master makes a small slot. Then a handle is made of a piece of metal square bar.

It has three threaded holes for storing interchangeable heads for blind rivets. Then you can begin to assemble the device.
