From square bottles, as well as from round ones, you can make many different crafts for interior decoration. And in this review, the author talks about a simple way by which it will be possible to cut square bottles without problems.
It should be noted that the method below can be cut not only square, but also triangular or oval bottles.
First of all, we mark the border of the future notch with masking tape or a marker, after which we carefully make a notch of the bottle in a circle using a conventional glass cutter.
The main stages of work
For convenience, you can fix the glass cutter with a clamp on the table at the required height by placing a bar or something else. After that, slightly leaning the bottle on the glass cutter roller and the table, turn it in a circle. In this case, the cut will be even.
After that, the bottle needs to be heated. For this, the author uses a nichrome thread, to which voltage is supplied from the transformer. To adjust the voltage, use a dimmer.
We heat the thread (moreover, it should not be very red), after which we press it tightly directly along the notch on the bottle and warm for some time.
If the glass bottle has a concave shape, you can press the nichrome thread with a screwdriver or other metal object. First, warm up one side, then crank and warm up the other.
It is not necessary to cool the bottle sharply in water - we apply a little effort, and the bottle is easily divided into two parts. And note that grinding the cut is best done wet.
