OSB plates are well-known and common material. But only recently it began to be used in fine finish and design.
Even the old darkened plates can be very interesting to decorate. Before starting all work, go over the stove with sandpaper and then remove the dust with a brush.
Method 1
A mahogany-based water stain is used for tinting. Then coat the surface with parquet alkyd polyurethane varnish.
After drying, sand the OSB board with emery cloth. So the putty will glide well over the varnish without staining the protruding fibers. Use a rubber spatula for application.
After the putty is completely dry, sand the surface with fine sandpaper. Coat the surface again with alkyd varnish. Plates processed in this way can be laid on the floor.
Method 2
This method is well suited for old, completely darkened OSB boards. First, apply white water-based paint, and on top cover the surface with mother-of-pearl enamel.
It must be applied in a sufficiently dense layer, and on top you can smooth it with a damp sponge to fill the recesses.
Now a semi-dry sponge with white paint in a circular motion, walk on the surface. This technology is suitable for facade work if you use suitable paint. And mother of pearl in the sun creates an amazing effect.
Method 3
The last way is the easiest. The same white paint is used with the addition of two pigments - ocher and black. It turns out a nice olive shade.
White paint is applied on top of the dried layer with a semi-dry sponge. It can also be done with a foam roller.
This method is the easiest and budget. It fits perfectly into the rustic style and is suitable for both interior and exterior decoration.
