Simple stand for grinder

A very simple rack for the grinder can be made of just a few pieces of a rectangular profile in a couple of tens of minutes. And in the end, you get an excellent cutting machine, with which you can smoothly and quickly cut metal workpieces.

Will be needed for a cutting machine

• Rectangular profile.
• Steel rectangular plate for the base.
• Spring.
• Bolt with nut.
• Rectangular chipboard plate.

From the angle grinder profile we cut off the workpieces: two small equal segments and one long for the handle.
We take two pieces of the profile.
Set them on a rectangular plate. The distance between them is equal to slightly more than the thickness of the profile width.
Weld to a steel plate.
So that the stand has more weight and is stable, we install all this on a rectangle of chipboard. Of course, instead of all this, you could immediately take a thick steel plate.
We fasten the steel base to the wooden one in several places, after making holes in the steel plate.
To attach the handle it is necessary to drill a through hole in all three segments. See photo:
We drill a hole for the bolt.
We insert a bolt and fix it with a nut.
In order for the grinder itself to rise up to its original position, it is necessary to introduce a return spring into the system. A similar one can be found in the brake system of a car.
We drill two holes and hang a spring. If the lifting force is insufficient, introduce another spring.
Now how to hang the grinder, you need to make a hole in the handle from the profile. Pre-try on the grinder to the installation site.
We fasten the grinder. There is a threaded hole in almost all angle grinders where the handle is screwed.
That's all - the cut-off machine is ready. The design is very stable and reliable. It cuts perfectly.
In this example, a small grinder is used.
At any time, the tool can be removed and used as usual.
Such a rack is definitely useful. It will facilitate your work, when we say, you will need to make a lot of vertical cuts.
A useful thing, minimum cost and time - the effect is obvious.
