A familiar situation for every second: pre-holiday bustle and trotting around grocery and souvenir shops, distracted from more important acquisitions. It so happened that tomorrow a children's party, and the New Year’s masquerade was not bought. Do not be upset and do not let the child feel sad because of such a trifle! An outfit for a baby can be made from what is at hand. For example, a clown costume from an old mother’s dress. Very fast, without material costs and special skills. All that is needed is a riot of fantasy and an hour of time.
Materials for work:
• Old (preferably very bright) mother's dress - 1 pc.;
• Elastic narrow tape (elastic band) - 35 cm;
• The remains of knitting threads of bright color - several balls;
• Thread, needle, sewing machine.
Stages of the work:
The first stage: preparation of the basis.
We are looking for a suitable dress in mom’s old things.

We unzip the back half of the dress from the bottom up by 20-25 centimeters.

We cut the front half of the dress (hem) at about the same distance. If there is no zipper on the dress, then an incision must be made on both the front and back halves of the hem.

The second stage: we form legs.
We turn the dress on the left side.

We connect along the cut line the details of the front and rear of the dress.

We wrap the zipper with the front of the cut.

Having departed from the edge 1 centimeter, we sew the connected parts of the cut.

At the junction of the cut, the seam is perpendicular to the bottom line of the dress.

The trousers of the overalls are obtained.

We cut the elastic tape in half.

On the lower edge of each leg we sew an elastic band, pulling.

It turns out an assembly that does not allow the leg to subside. That is why the length of the dress does not matter.

The third stage: we make pompons.
From cardboard we cut out two circles. In the center of each circle we cut out small circles (the smaller the inner circle, the larger the pompom will be). Part of the sidewall of the circle is cut out.

We select the right color of the remains of knitting threads.

We put a thread (2 - 3 layers) on one cardboard circle over the entire width, leaving the edges on the cut line of the sidewall of the large circle.

We put the second cardboard circle on top of the thread, combining the lines of cutouts.

We wind knitting threads on folded cardboard circles.

We insert scissors between the cardboard circles and cut the winding.

The ends of the thread embedded inside the cardboard circles are tied with a knot, tightly pulled together. It turns out a pompom with a ponytail.

If you make winding threads of different colors on cardboard circles, then the pompom will turn out multi-colored.

In total, we make 2 monophonic and 3 multi-colored pompons.

The fourth stage: we connect the parts.
Wrap the shoulders of the dress with the tail of the pompom and make a few knots.

Thus, we shortened the length of the coquette of the dress so that the baby's handle does not fall out of the adult armhole.

Sew the remaining pompons in the center of the front of the dress.

That's all! The kid is pleased that there is something to seem to Santa Claus, the mom - that she spent little time, made a unique costume, and the dress did not have to be thrown away, dad - the integrity of the family budget.
