This workshop is on the unusual use of eggshells as mosaics. Everyone can find material for this type of creativity, and giving a second life to the shell and connecting your imagination, you can create spectacular and unusual things. In this workshop we will create a light and simple mosaic "Broken Heart" so, let's get started.
We will need:
- eggshell;
- colors of orange, red, yellow, green, blue and violet;
- PVA glue,
- a sheet of cardboard in white;
- primer and craquelure varnish is possible.
1. Wash the eggshell, peel off the inner film and for 5 minutes put in a 5% soda solution.

2. When the eggshell has dried thoroughly, cover the first shell with green paint, the second with purple, the third with red, the fourth with yellow, the fifth with blue and the sixth with orange.

3. From the cardboard cut a rectangle 10 * 15 cm (size can be arbitrary), primed it with white paint.

4. When the primed cardboard is dry, draw a heart template with a simple pencil.

5. We take a violet shell, crumbling it into small pieces in our hands, smear each piece with PVA glue and begin to lay out the mosaic.

6. Spread the shell in small pieces as densely as possible to each other. To create the effect of a broken heart, glue several parts randomly at the bottom of the template.

7. With the next layer we spread the blue shell, also crushing it into small pieces and gluing it into the template with PVA glue.

8. The same is done with a green shell, gradually filling the heart with mosaic.

9. The next layer we take the yellow shell, and continue to lay out the mosaic.

10. By mosaics of red and orange we finish filling our heart.

11. The left upper part of the heart is not completely filled, creating the effect of soaring fragments.

12. Give the work a blue background, revealing its part, free from mosaic.

13. In this example, the left side of the background differs from the right in texture. This effect is achieved thanks to craquelure varnish.

14. Paint with a thin brush the left part of our mosaic heart in places where there is no mosaic.

15. Our egg shell mosaic is ready, so you can create works more complex in color and detailed combinations. We wish you success!
