Quilling, or the paper-rolling technique, allows you to create incredibly bewitching paintings and crafts. Flowers are the easiest thing to master. When I could confidently make any plant miracle, then my imagination wanted to go beyond that. And I, even unexpectedly for myself, made a beautiful “Turtles” panel using the quilling technique. She is fascinated by the fact that many ordinary elements can be made of ordinary paper stripes twisted into round spirals. And these elements, glued together in a certain order, allow you to create real masterpieces.
For the picture "Turtles" prepare the following materials:
- paper stripes for quilling white, green and light green;
- scissors;
- a wooden skewer (or a special set of tools for quilling);
- PVA glue;
- a piece of thick cardboard;
- two sheets of colored double-sided paper (green and blue).

First we need to prepare the basis for the work. Take a thick cardboard (you can cut it from any box from under candies or cookies), cut a blank of 17x30 cm size from it. It will need to be glued with any colored paper. I love when the background of the product is blue or blue.

To do this, put the cardboard base on a sheet of colored paper and wrap the edges, gluing them with glue or using double-sided tape. It turns out here is such a beautiful basis for our work.

Now we need to take the colored stripes for quilling, cut in half and start twisting loose round spirals. You can use a wooden stick (skewer). She perfectly twists the spirals and the blanks for the elements are easily removed from it.

These blanks must be made in white, light green and green shades. Next, we move on to the formation of elements for work. You need to learn how to make five basic elements.

Element "free spiral". It is necessary to leave such 14 pieces of green color.

The eye element. With two hands, squeeze simultaneously on both sides of the workpiece. Make 50 pieces of light green and 40 dark green.

The crescent element. The upper edge is slightly higher than the lower. These need 20 pieces of each color.

Arrowhead element. As an element of the "eye", only folded in half. It is necessary to twist such forms of about 20 colorful pieces.

Form the white blanks as the elements "square" and "eye". In total, you need 40 white uniforms for work.

Now move on to gluing the elements. Here I went at the call of my imagination ... You can first draw the lines of the picture, and then fill the space. But, my turtles turned out to be a bit fabulous, although, the main elements are clearly visible: the shell, legs, tail, neck and head.

By the same principle, we make the second turtle, which is located in the lower right corner.
For the eyes, I made two elements of a “tight spiral” and stuck it on the figures.

From white elements I formed an imitation of a reptile track. And when I noticed that the upper right corner remained free, I decided to make a beautiful inscription on it.

I gave it to my good friend, who is fond of reptiles and grows red-eared turtles at home. She was delighted with the souvenir and hung it near the aquarium with pets.
