Is it possible to make a chicken without knowing the secret of Colonel Sanders? The real KFC chicken recipe has been kept a secret for over 67 years. However, everything tasty is incredibly simple, and it’s not difficult to cook appetizing chicken wings in breading, even at home.

Ingredients and recommendations

It takes a little over one hour and a minimum of cooking skills to cook KFC chicken at home. Of the main products used:

  • fresh chicken fillet - 1-2 pieces;
  • corn flakes - 150 grams;
  • chicken wings - 7-9 pieces;
  • dry breading - 3-4 tbsp;
  • chicken eggs - 2 pieces;
  • flour for breading - 150-200 grams;
  • vegetable oil - 1 liter;
  • salt, spices - to taste.

For a classic homemade marinade, just take the seasoning for fried chicken, ground black pepper and paprika. However, more sophisticated gourmets can experiment with various herbs - thyme, basil, oregano and others. The real KFC chicken recipe involves using garlic powder or regular garlic, but this is an amateur.

Cooking process

Chicken wings and breast are cut into three so that they are well fried, and placed in a deep bowl. Add salt, chicken seasoning, paprika and black pepper, and mix well. Leave to marinate for about 30-40 minutes. Corn flakes without additives are crushed using a rolling pin or crush, and mixed with a breading mixture or crackers. Beat eggs slightly in a separate bowl.

When the chicken is well marinated, pieces of fillet and wings are rolled in flour, then in beaten eggs and corn flakes with breadcrumbs. It turns out a triple breading, which reliably retains moisture inside the meat, so that the chicken is tender and incredibly juicy. Prepared KFC chicken pieces are dipped in preheated oil (deep fat) and fried evenly on both sides until golden brown.

They cover a deep plate with a napkin, which will take away excess fat from fried chicken, and spread delicious wings with a slide. As a side dish, it is recommended to serve french fries or rustic potatoes. You can also use a spicy sauce for a pungent taste.
