Preparatory work

From two segments of the steel square, you need to weld a plate, which you then need to clean well with a grinder and weld vertically to the upper working part of the vise-clamp.
It is necessary to make a simple U-shaped part bent at a small angle from a steel bar of circular cross-section. It then needs to be welded to another home-made element that will be attached to the upright, providing up-and-down movement.
Assembly assembly
