With the help of a simple home-made device, which is easy to do with your own hands, you can water garden beds by pumping water from a tank or pool. For this homemade product you will need a power steering pump, a power drill and a hose of a suitable length.

The main stages of work

First of all, we screw the M8 pin into the shaft hole of the power steering pump, and for greater reliability we tighten it with a pincoil.
After that, we screw in an additional fitting with a diameter of 15 mm in the pump’s native fitting, after having wrapped the fum tape on its threaded part. Tighten the part well with a spanner.

At the next stage, using three home-made steel corners and self-tapping screws, it is necessary to fix the power steering pump on a wide board of suitable sizes. Also, to the board at some distance from the pump, we install the mount under the handle for the electric drill.

Assembly assembly

When all the preparatory work has been completed, insert the power drill into the holder and clamp the pin, which is inserted into the pump shaft, in the cartridge.

Next, the hose with a diameter of 15 mm (silicone, rubber or PVC) must be fixed with clamps to the inlet and outlet of the power steering oil pump.

It's just that you can make a compact water pump for irrigation from an old oil pump - and note that the electric drill drive is a temporary solution. It is best to install an electric motor with a power of 1.5 kW, connecting it to the shaft using a belt drive.
