Homemade ratchet nozzle for loosening bolts and nuts

There are situations when long-turned nuts or bolts become so sour that they cannot be unscrewed with an ordinary open-end wrench. In this case, a simple homemade nozzle is useful, which you can make yourself from a replaceable chrome head with a ratchet adapter.

The main stages of work

First of all, we clamp the hexagonal head with a "dog" and drill a hole in one of the walls on the drilling machine (first with a thin drill, then with a larger diameter). Next, using a grinder, we slightly grind the ordinary nut so that it closely approaches the outer surface of the head, and weld.

Welding of parts is best done by a semiautomatic device, however, if it is not at hand, then you can do with an inverter apparatus, making a few tacks. We clean the welding spot with an angle grinder. Then a screw of a suitable diameter is screwed into the nut. If desired, the resulting part can be processed on a felt circle.

The edges on the head of the bolt must be grinded off (on a lathe or using angle grinders). In order to conveniently tighten and unscrew the fixing bolt, you can cut off the hat so that a finger grip is obtained. Then we put in the ratchet and the tool is ready to work.

In general, the idea itself is good and has the right to exist, but requires minor amendments. In order not to spend a lot of time on processing the head of the bolt, it is enough just to use a special wing bolt.
