Using a homemade universal wrench made from improvised materials, you can unscrew or tighten bolts and nuts of different sizes. Moreover, this wrench can handle both round and square nuts.
To make a universal wrench, you will need a head from a ring wrench (you will need to make a small slot in it), as well as 3 pieces of a steel square and a rectangular metal plate.
A home-made universal key is useful both in the workshop and in the garage or in the country - there is no need to carry around an entire "armful" of keys of different sizes. With this key, you can disassemble the engine and quickly remove the wheel from the bike.
The main stages of work
First of all, you need to cut off the head from the ring wrench, and make a slot in it with the help of a grinder. Then cut off three identical pieces of steel square. In one of the segments we make a small depression on the end using a metal file, using a nut as a template.
At the next stage, we set the blanks in the desired position, and weld two square rods to the head of the ring wrench. The square in the middle should remain movable. We clean the welds with a grinder.
Then between the two extreme rods it will be necessary to weld a nut. A long bolt is screwed into it, which will push the central “insert”. A piece of round bar must be welded to the head of the bolt to make a collar.
After that, it remains only to "sheathe" the finished homemade product on both sides with strips cut out of sheet metal, and paint. The detailed process of manufacturing a universal key for unscrewing nuts and bolts can be seen in the video on the website.
