A homemade plumb line will allow you to quickly and most importantly - accurately verify the vertical position of walls, partitions, pillars, columns and other surfaces. You can make such a plumb line from ordinary scraps of plywood, and it will take no more than 10-15 minutes.

First of all, it is necessary to glue the scraps of plywood in such a way that a block of about 30-40 mm thick is obtained. If there is no plywood at hand, you can use wooden blocks (for example, a 50x50 mm block is suitable).

To make an accurate plumb, in total three blanks will be required: one long block (about 100 cm long) and two "shorties". The bar itself is desirable so that it is at least 10 cm wide.

Making a homemade plumb

After all three blanks are cut exactly to size, we proceed to the production of a plumb line - for this, first we glue the parts together. On the wide side of the long bar you need to stick two "shorties" at a distance of at least 50 cm.

Next, we mark the center of the upper short bar and drill a through hole through it obliquely, into which we thread a nylon thread (or cord) and tie its end to a knot. At the other end of the rope we attach a heavy weight - for example, a large nut.

That's how fast and easy you can do it yourself do-it-yourself precision plumb bob from scraps of plywood. For a detailed process of making this homemade product, see the video on the site. Write in the comments what you think about this plumb line.
