From scraps of metal, which almost always remain after performing any work, you can make cool universal vice clamps for the home workshop. The peculiarity of this device is that it can be installed both horizontally and vertically.

First of all, it is necessary to cut off two identical sections along the length of the profile pipe. From a piece of metal we cut out two plates in which we drill through holes. The plates need to be welded to only one profile pipe. With the second they are connected using a steel bar.

At the end of each section of the profile, it is necessary to drill through holes and weld one nut into which we screw a long bolt or stud with a screw. Using this bolt, it will be possible to adjust the clamping force of the workpiece.

The main stages of work

From pieces of sheet metal we make a movable clamping jaw, which we connect to the upper profile pipe using bolt fastening. It is also necessary to weld a piece of metal strip with two holes to the lower section of the profile (approximately in the middle of the workpiece).

Using this strip, you can fix the vise to the surface of the table or upright. Then all parts must be cleaned with a grinder and painted. At the last stage of work, we proceed to the assembly of the device.

The step-by-step process of manufacturing home-made universal vice-clamps for the home workshop can be seen in the video on our website.
