To make the video recording as high-quality as possible, it is necessary that the camera itself is not only securely fixed, but also moves smoothly in the horizontal plane. And so the author decided to make an automatic carriage for the camcorder from improvised materials.

Of the basic materials for the implementation of this idea, an aluminum profile with a groove of suitable length (depending on the length of the work table or other surface on which it will be mounted), as well as a wooden block, a stud with nuts and an electric drive will be required.

First of all, you need to drill a longitudinal through hole in a wooden block, then insert a stud into it and fix it on both sides with two nuts.

The main stages of work

At the next stage, a wooden block instead of with a stud and two nuts must be inserted into the aluminum profile. Also, in the upper part of the workpiece, three more holes must be drilled to install the rack.

At the ends of the aluminum profile, the master installs plugs cut from plywood. And for greater reliability (so as not to fly out) they must be fixed with small self-tapping screws from the sides.

After that, it remains only to install the rack on which the camera and the drive will be mounted. For this homemade work, the author uses an engine with a chuck from a screwdriver.
