In everyday life, we are surrounded by a huge number of things made of plastic: computer mice, cases of electrical appliances, toothbrushes and much more. That's just cheap Chinese plastic does not have sufficient strength: it often breaks, crackes or breaks off.

Buying a new thing instead of the old one is the simplest solution, but far from always rational. Therefore, if you like to craft something with your own hands, it will be easier and cheaper to repair broken parts.

And for this, a simple home-made device for repairing plastic parts is useful, which can be made from two soldering irons and a brass bar. Conventional 12 mm staples for the stapler will act as consumables.

The main stages of work

First of all, you need to cut off part of the wooden handles on the soldering irons so that they can be docked with each other. After that, the soldering irons are connected together, and the wooden handles are rewound with electrical tape.

Also, it will be necessary to rewind the two cords so that they do not intertwine with each other in the process of working in a “pigtail”.

Next, we clamp the brass bar in a vise, and drill two holes in it along the width of the bracket. And then the edges of the bar will need to be bent, having previously made a couple of cuts with a manual hacksaw for metal.

At the last stage, the prepared brass bar is inserted into the soldering iron, and the home-made tool is ready to work. As you can see, nothing complicated - even a novice master can handle it.
