From scraps of porcelain tile, which often remain after repair in a house or apartment, you can make a stylish windowsill with your own hands. This is much better than just throwing the rest of the tiles into the trash.

In addition, such a window sill looks much more attractive than plastic or wood. And most importantly - such a window sill is easier to care for and much more durable. Whereas plastic is easy to scratch.

The first step is to prepare the basis for laying the tiles. To do this, the master uses a piece of plywood cut to size. First, the screws are set at the level, then plywood is laid on them.

For reliable fixation of the base, the master uses mounting foam. Additionally, plywood must be fixed with long self-tapping screws - under them, the master pre-drills holes.

At the next stage, using a square and a pencil, the master makes plywood markings in the form of brickwork. Tiles will be laid in the same order.

Then trim the porcelain tiles to be cut to size. First, the master glues two long tiles to the wood glue. Previously, the edges will need to be polished with a regular headlight polishing paste.

Then, small tiles are laid according to the previously made markup. The master uses wood glue to lay the porcelain tiles. But it is better to replace it with a polyurethane or silicone sealant.
