In this review, the author suggests experimenting a bit and making a cool snow bike with your own hands. This will require an old bicycle frame, as well as two skis. By the way, instead of skiing, you can also use an old snowboard.
First of all, it will be necessary to remove everything superfluous from the frame, including pedals and a large asterisk. Only the frame itself, the front and rear forks, the steering wheel and the seat should remain.
To connect the two front parts of each ski with the frame of the bicycle, you will need to make two mounts: for the front and rear of the frame.
The main stages of work
First, the author welds the rear mount. To do this, he uses a piece of metal plate, a piece of steel pipe and a pair of bent strips.
A piece of pipe of a smaller diameter is inserted into the tube, inside of which there is a stud. Then the mount is screwed to the ski and connected to the rear fork of the bicycle frame.
At the next stage, the front mount is made. The materials used are the same (plate, two strips, piece of pipe, stud), but the design is slightly different.
We mount the ski and connect it to the front fork of the bicycle frame. Instead of pedals, the author uses a small piece of a shovel shank with a diameter of about 30 cm. For greater reliability, you can also weld a metal tube.
