Pots for home plants are often of the same decorative value as the flowers themselves. Creating your own decorative flower pots is always interesting.

In this review, the author offers a cool idea how to make a pot with the structure of natural stone from cement.

First you need to decide on the shape and size of the pot. One tank should be larger and the second smaller.

Cement will be poured between them. If you do not have a suitable smaller container, you can simply assemble the frame from wood and nail a thick film with it with a furniture stapler.

The main stages of work

Now you need to make a print on wet sand. You do not need an integral tank; the author uses a piece of plastic packaging without a bottom.

This is enough to give shape. The main thing is to level and compact the sand well.

Now is the time to knead the cement. The mixture should not be too liquid, in consistency resembling thick sour cream.

It is easiest to work with such a composition. Lay out the layer that becomes the bottom of the pot. Do not make it too thin so that the cement does not crack.

Now insert our inner shape. Pay attention that it is exactly in the center, then all the walls will be the same thickness.

Pour the cement in a circle, adding a little. This way less voids and bubbles form. Remove excess mixture with a spatula and level the sides.

After 10 minutes, the cement will give moisture to the sand and slightly thicken. Then you can fill the sand inside the frame, gently tamping it, and pull out the side.

Note that the shape may warp, but you can easily fix it by adding and compacting the sand.

After a day, the cement will harden, the pot can be pulled out. With a rough brush, remove all sand from it. The edges can be sharp, but they are easy to grind with a grinder or a simple large emery cloth.

Now paint with a dark shade, and on top with powder pigments add brick or ocher shades.

That's all. In such a simple way, you can make a cache-pot of any shape, size or color.
