A safety stand (or stand) ensures safe operation during the repair and maintenance of a vehicle raised with a jack.

In this review, the author shows how to make a reliable safety stand for cars with their own hands.

First of all, from the profile pipe 40 * 40 mm with a wall thickness of 3 mm, it is necessary to cut off two external posts and two upper parts.

Please note that the parts must be symmetrical to each other.

Further, from the profile pipe 30 * 30 mm with a wall thickness of 3 mm, the master cuts off two internal racks.

The author uses previously cut blanks as a template. As you already understood, the internal racks should go into the external.

The main stages of work

From the profile pipe 40 * 40 mm, you need to cut the jumper. We weld it to the upper parts of the outer posts.

To reduce the gap between the inner and outer racks, the author decided to make spacers made of metal 2 mm thick. We weld them to a profile of 30x30 mm.

Further along the edges of the upper part of the stand and in the internal racks, you need to drill holes for the fixing "fingers".

After that, the author drills five more holes in the internal racks. They are needed to adjust the stand height.

Stand assembly process

To the bottom of the racks, the author welds stops made from the remains of a profile pipe 30 * 30 mm. It will also be necessary to strengthen the design with scarves.

At the last stage, it remains only to cut off four pieces of a steel round log with a diameter of 10 mm. This will be the very fixing “fingers”.

In them, the author then drills holes and inserts rings from Chinese trinkets.

Well, then it remains only to paint all the details, and you can proceed with the assembly.
