Going fishing or camping, there is a need to cook hot food in nature. Usually, a large pot suspended above a fire or a tourist gas burner is used for this. In the first case, you need to collect a lot of firewood, and in the second, carry overall equipment with you. An alternative between these popular methods is the use of a homemade compact folding stove, which is laid with thin running branches.

Materials and Tools

The stove is made of sheet metal with a thickness of 1.2 mm. To process it, you need a tool:
  • Angle grinder;
  • engraver;
  • drill;
  • hacksaw for metal;
  • file;
  • stationery scissors;
  • pliers.

Making a stove

The stove consists of 6 plates, which, like a puzzle, are assembled into a complete device. The walls of the stove are made of 4 sheets of metal 10.5 x 10.5 cm. They need to be cut according to the shape of the patterns shown in the photo.

Patterns drawn on cardboard are cut with scissors. Before you circle paper parts on sheets of metal, it is better to assemble them in the oven to make sure that everything is fitted correctly and that it fits well.

You also need to draw and cut the bottom template on which the firewood will be laid. Structurally provided for its fixation in horizontal slots on the front and rear walls of the stove. This part will perform the function of grates, therefore, for better air penetration and ash loss, more holes need to be drilled into it.

Proven paper templates are encircled on sheet steel blanks, after which they need to be cut.

You can use any available tool for this. The outer contours are better cut off with a grinder, and the internal complex parts are treated with an engraver.

It is advisable to use the latter as little as possible, since its cutting discs are quickly erased when cutting such thick steel. In principle, you can cut all the workpieces with a hacksaw for metal, but it will be a long time.

The edges of the workpieces must be sanded with a file or sandpaper to remove burrs and sharp edges that could injure your hands.

In principle, the stove is already ready and can be used, but if it is planned to boil water in a cup on it, then you also need to make a cross grate. When installing large bowlers, such a stand is not required.

You can also make a grid with small grooves for direct cooking.

The stove turned out so small that it fits even in your pocket.

But it’s better to sew a special leather handbag.

For the convenience of assembling the stove, you should first dock its side and front walls, then insert the bottom, wind up the back and lay the grill on top. In the window for loading firewood, you need to lay small branches and set fire.

All the heat from the flame will rise up to the dishes, so that food is cooked very quickly with minimal fuel use.
