Folding table

When there is not enough space in the workshop, but you need to work somewhere, you need a small table.
But best for compactness is a folding or folding table. It can be made to be lowered or, as in my case, raised.
For the table we need:
  • - chipboard or thick plywood;
  • - bars for legs;
  • - two loops;
  • - wood screws;
  • - three powerful self-tapping screws with dowels;
  • - three washers on 8 mm;
  • - bar for support;
  • - four corners;
  • - latch;
  • - 8 mortise furniture nuts.

Mark the level of the table on the wall. We drill holes for the dowels.
We fasten the bar to the wall on the screws, pre-installed the washers.
The bar burst from me, but not much. Taped it with PVA glue.

In the blanks of the legs, we drill non-through holes for mortise furniture nuts. I unscrewed the nuts from the old cabinet and not only them. But more on that later. The legs are 720 mm long.

We screw furniture nuts into the drilled holes. In principle, there is another type of nut, but you need to go to the store for them.
A bit about hole marking. The nut has a diameter of 11.5 mm; we drill with a drill at 10.5 mm. To tighten the nuts you need a screwdriver with a wide sting.

At this stage, you can screw the corners. Corners are also from the old cabinet. A wealth of utilities this closet. This is not the last thing I learned from it.
Now set to worktops.
Her role will be performed by one of the walls of the same cabinet.
The size of the table (countertop) was 1200 * 560 mm.
We drill holes for nuts in it. Not cross-cutting either. You need to be careful in this procedure. The legs at the table are thick and easier to drill in, but here you can accelerate and drill a countertop.

Screw the nuts. In the chipboard they go tighter than in the tree.

We attach the tabletop to the installation site and mount the hinges. I have used them, like everything in the design.

We attach the legs to the countertop and tighten. Since our legs are removable, we tighten the screws all the way. When we remove them, just loosen the screws and the legs are easily detached.

We take a whetstone and fasten it to the wall. We fasten the bolt to the block.
In principle, the mount may be different.
Espagnolette holds our countertop when it is folded.
When folded, the table does not take up space. The legs can be hung on the table itself, as in the photo on the right.

When unfolded, we have a place for creativity. The table turned out stable and quietly withstands 80 kg.

In conclusion, I note. An old closet, and after its main work brings benefits.
