Children always need lots of toys. Since babies are not able to show interest in one thing for a long time, parents often have to come up with new ways to maintain their attention. Otherwise, children will begin to be interested in household chemicals, dishes, pull together cutlery, climb into sockets and other dangerous places.
Of course, not everyone will be able to buy toys every day, so needlework will be the best solution to this problem. You can sew funny animals, cars, helicopters, dolls with your own hands, especially if you use the remnants of various fabrics, rather than buying new materials every time.

Here is a giraffe, for example, sewn from thick yellow stretch (trim from summer jeans), the remains of brown leather and stuffed with padding polyester.

First, draw a sketch on paper and cut it out.

Then we circle the paper blank on the fabric, cut it with a small allowance for the seam (up to 5 mm) and apply it to the whole piece of fabric.

To make the toy normal and undeformed, it’s better to sew the curly part in this way, otherwise there is a risk of mixing and inconsistency of the parts (especially if the fabric stretches).

As you sew, excess fabric can be trimmed immediately.

The stitches should be very small (especially on the head, there are a lot of “twists”), otherwise, when twisting, the seams will not have smooth and rounded transitions.

From the wrong side we sew the head, neck, legs, leaving the back and tail area intact.

We place three strips of brown leather on the back (you can replace it with a thin satin ribbon) and sew them together with the fabric. The loops must be refilled inside the product, leaving only small “tails” outside.

For eversion, it is necessary to leave a small slot in the area of the future tail, through which fill the giraffe with syntepon.

We sew this hole by inserting two loops to simulate the tail, with small reverse stitches.

Eyes can be made of black identical buttons.

We sew them in pairs, bringing the thread to the opposite side in the same holes.

From the skin we cut out small oval and round fragments that we sew to the yellow body of our giraffe.

Discard the glue and take the time to sew on the parts to make the toy safe and environmentally friendly.

Now this spotted giraffe can please the baby and become another toy of his valuable collection.
